28 Western & English Today EARLY SPRING 2015 Small Sofas/Loveseats Who can resist the open arms of a plush leather love seat, especially when it's decked with a carved Longhorn frame or fringy trim? Life revolves around our comfort zones, and a favorite cozy seat for two is no exception. If your customer needs this kind of seating, consider suggesting a matching chair. Chances are good you'll sell them both. Display Hint: Create an inviting vignette that demands attention. Shoppers will want to try out the goods. (Again, to keep seating from being shopworn, you can ribbon of the seats or f ll them with pillows.) Invite interested customers to try the chair or loveseat out; urge them to put their feet up and settle in. Talk options af er they've gotten really comfortable and remind them that you charge more for delivery if they're still in it! Keep in mind that one loveseat can lead to the whole room. Versatile Consoles Rustic or contemporary, sleek and smooth, au naturel or ornately carved, the console table serves a myriad of uses. T ink of it as a narrow serving table, or pull up a chair and use it as a desk. It can also make a dramatic entry piece. Placed up against a wall in a living room, at the top of the stairs, in a foyer, or even in a master bath, these space- conserving tables add a useful surface you can repurpose all day long. T ey're especially handy behind a sofa or sectional situated in the center of a room, providing the perfect surface for lighting, sculpture or any other decorative accessory. Display Hint: Drape a f ne textile or blanket at an angle for dramatic ef ect, or cluster candle holders or other multiples (picture frames, perhaps) of to one side. Show of the table's inherent design and proportions; a well-designed console adds line, weight and texture to any interior.
