42 Western & English Today EDITOR'S PICK F ounded in the performance arena of Western ropers and English boots, Ariat International has since expanded to also include the fashion realm, but the company hasn't forgotten its equestrian roots. In fall 2016, Ariat debuted Two24 — the name inspired by Secretariat's Triple Crown world-record time of 2 minutes and 24 seconds at the 1973 Belmont Stakes — as a collection of high- end fashion footwear that pays tribute to its beginnings in riding boots. "We've taken classic silhouettes and infused them with unexpected and sometimes opposing details," says Two24 men's footwear designer José Monroy. "ese details complement each other to create unique styles that also stay true to our rich equestrian heritage." Monroy's counterpart, Lauren Duncan, head of design for the Two24 women's line, adds, "Specifically the quality of the leathers and the details in the patterning and design. We chose beautiful leather and real cow lining; it's an extra layer of quality that our customers can actually feel. We have also added a great amount of comfort technology while keeping the overall look of the collection slim and sleek." All handcraed from premium leathers and employing Ariat's signature Triple Crown stitch, the women's shoes are assembled by fih-generation bootmakers in Spain while the men's styles are proudly made in the U.S. www.ariat.com ARIAT'S CROWNING ACHIEVEMENT
