thinking 'cheaper is better.' We're always stressing quality frst." Adiktd produces its garments in China, and Jenken has no regrets about choosing to manufacture in his homeland. He says their Chinese manufacturers are extremely diligent and always get the job done to perfection. Adiktd's situation is unique. Being that Jenken and his ancestors are from China, manufacturing there makes sense for Adiktd. "It ultimately comes down to quality," Alex explains. "I believe industries that moved their operations to other countries, based on the sole factor of cost are not being honest. As for our company, we are producing in China because of their quality of standards and skills." Not only does Adiktd have a very special relationship with their manufacturing plants in Shanghai and Guangzhou, China, they share a unique heritage with Jenken and his family. truly love the people part of the business and promoting Adiktd to others," says Dan Stewart. "We, of course, understand that some Americans are concerned about products being manufactured in China," Jenken says. "We feel, however, that this is a special situation. For one, my father grew up in China. And my great grandfather, with a simple act of kindness, prospered in China. Not to mention the exceptional job the Chinese manufacturers do on our garments. It's like we're a big family." Stewart, who previously worked for Wrangler, Lee Jeans and Rocky Mountain Clothing Company, says his job with Adiktd allows him to interact with other sales representatives in the industry and provides him with insight on how to further Adiktd's success. "I love being involved with people, whether it's consumers or salesman or designers," Stewart says. "I truly love the people part of the business and promoting Adiktd to others. It's genuine. Not to mention that we have a great product, so it's easy to campaign." While Stewart's tenure with Adiktd is slightly more than a year, he says he's witnessed a dramatic change in terms of what the company is emphasizing for 2014. "We have refocused and rededicated ourselves to what is going on with our retailers and what's happening on the retail foor," Stewart says. "We truly have rededicated ourselves to supporting our retailers, beyond just selling them garments. Te job is not done until the customer walks out the door with the garment. Te absolute core of our sales philosophy is supporting our customers and retailers." While Adiktd has experienced immense success in less than a decade, Jenken has taken in it humble stride — always prepared to give his customers new denim oferings in high style at a moderate price point. Like his grandfather, Jenken is intent to run a company based on honesty and integrity — and his employees follow suit. Perhaps, it turns out that a good man — and a good company — isn't so hard to fnd, afer all. (800) 536-2677; adiktdonline.com 46 Western & English Today
