Western & English Today 5 SUMMER 2017 CACTI AND NECK TIES By Holly Henderson, Editorial Director A ccessories are a girl's best friend — or at least at the top of the list with shoes and Instagram fi lters. ey give us an easy way to bring closet staples together in a polished look and allow us to switch things up based on occasion or mood. I like to style jeans and tee with layered necklaces and stacked cuff s, wear all black with big chandelier earrings or a beaded clutch, and throw on a simple sheath dress with a colorful wild rag or squash blossom. When I want to redecorate, my home gets the same treatment; I accessorize. Décor accents and unique knickknacks allow me to update and customize my space with ease — and without breaking the bank. But the best thing about accessories, both fashion and home: They're typically one- size-fi ts-all. As someone who loves to shop, I can pick out accessories quickly in-store or online, no time in a fi tting room required, which also makes them great gi s for family and friends. at's why we've dedicated this issue to accessories and gi items. For store own- ers, they're a great way to up your average total sales per customer, broaden your price ranges, and create an original collection that shoppers won't fi nd elsewhere. A few of my favorite recent purchases: for my living room, gold ceramic vases shaped like cacti, and for my closet, patterned ban- dana neck ties by Farran B. EDITOR'S NOTE EDITOR'S NOTE
